Joes concocts a smart drink that has an amazing impact on Matthew’s behavior and intelligence, hence Smatthew (Smart Matthew) is born! Matthew becomes the polar opposite of his normal self with hilarious results. Even Dave wants to hang out with “Smatthew” who treats Dave in a childlike manner. He uses Star Wars as a metaphor to explain the Nixon administration to Dave, who is all ears. This is in stark contrast to Dave normally ignoring Matthew’s antics and behavior on a daily basis.

Meanwhile, Max has a crush on someone in the office and finds a reluctant confidant in Lisa. He asks for her help and she begrudginly agrees. Her apprehension at being invovled proves true as Max then uses Lisa as a pawn in his schemes to ask out his crush, putting Lisa in the middle of her two co-workers.
